Weezer!

At the end of last week, I noticed my friend Judith had a facebook status that said something like, "I have an extra ticket to Weezer, message or call if you want to buy it."  At first I thought I shouldn't spend the money.  Then, I thought to myself, "what other time in the history of ever is Weezer going to play the entire Blue Album in one show?"  Then, I answered myself with a "probably never."  I'd also like to note that I missed the Deftones show the previous week which my friends Lily and Javi did go to.  After watching Lily's YouTube videos from the show and really regretting not going, I decided I shouldn't pass up any more opportunities at wonderful shows with a great nostalgia factor.  So, I consulted Josh who assured me it was fine if I went without him because he was definitely unwilling to spend the money.  Then, I sent Judith a message on facebook and awaited a reply.  I think it was meant to be because Judith still had the ticket just one day before the show!

So, Monday came, I picked up my ticket, then headed downtown to meet up with Lily and Javi to stand in a mega-line to get into Stubb's.  Once we got in, we walked around for a bit, then found a spot to get settled in while we waited for the opening band (which was taking forever!).  And, just as we thought we had run out of sweat to sweat, Weezer pulled a fast one on us and came out to play (no opening band required, yessss)!  They started with the hits, from newest to oldest.  Then, they took a little break while Karl showed a pretty awesome slideshow of old photos and band flyers.  After that, Weezer came back out and played the entire Blue Album.  It was an awesome show!  After the show, Lily, Javi, and I went to wait for Weezer to come out and say, "hello."  But, to our semi-sadness, they pulled another fast one on us and made a quick getaway in their one of many white vans.  Even with that little bummer, it was worth every penny.

Rivers!

Hip, hip!

Intermission sweatiness.

Oh yeah, speaking of trying not to ever miss another awesome show with a great nostalgia factor, I just bought Josh and I tickets to see Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance in Dallas this September.  Total score!

  1. The next day, for Pinkerton, they had an opening band called "The Knux" and they weren't so bad. I hope you caught the video's I took that day, cause they played some awesome b-sides! I totally got Brian's pic, too! As for Blink, did you get pit tickets and how much were they? Javi wanted to go, but a 3 hour drive for lawn tickets just ain't my bag. We did that when they came to Houston, and it was fun, but I'd much rather be up close.

  2. I saw that you got Brian's pic on facebook, so awesome! And the videos are really great too!

For Blink, pit tickets were sold out and the first tier of seating was a ridiculous amount of money. So, I bought tickets in the second tier of seating (if that makes any sense). We're in row HH staring at the almost center of the stage, so it's definitely not close, but a vast improvement from the lawn area. We'll see how it goes, I have never been to that big venue in Dallas before.
